Aldi Has a New Pyrex Copycat—and It’s Less Than Half the Cost

You know a kitchen product is popular when Aldi makes a copycat. In the grocery chain’s Finds Aisle, shoppers race each week to snatch up lookalikes of popular, nifty items at a fraction of the cost before they sell out. Whether it’s cocktail glasses that look like they came from Anthropologie or a beautiful hobnail cake stand that rivals Williams Sonoma’s version, if Aldi is creating its own alternative, you can be sure it’s on trend.

Some Aldi Finds are a bit more functional than a colorful glass for your Sauvy B Martini or a pretty stand to elevate a Quiche Lorraine for your Mother’s Day brunch. One of this week’s Aldi Finds fits into the utilitarian category, and you won’t just be pulling it out when people come over for cocktails or a brunch. You’ll use it weekly, if not daily.

Aldi’s Crofton 12-Piece Glass Bowls Set

Our grandmas swear by classic Pyrex glass containers, and now Aldi has a copycat of the Pyrex Freshlock series. What makes this design so beloved is the see-through glass, which lets you easily view what leftovers are in your fridge, and the snap-on plastic lids that keep food fresh and secure. They’re great, but they’re expensive. We always watch for sales on Amazon, but typically, a 20-piece set of 10 bowls with 10 lids costs more than $50.

This week, Aldi dropped its own version of Pyrex Freshlock bowls in two different shapes—round glass bowls or rectangular glass bowls—in the Finds Aisle. They function just like the Pyrex bowls but cost a lot less. Each set of six bowls and six locking lids costs $14.99, or about $2.50 a bowl. That’s half the cost of Pyrex. The Aldi versions are just as useful for storing leftovers, as you can easily see what you have in the fridge, helping to curb food waste.
