If you slept through Amazon Prime Day over the summer, firstly you would have slept for two whole days, and secondly you probably could use a decent cup of coffee to help you wake up in the mornings. Luckily, the follow-up to Prime Day, Amazon’s more recently added annual Prime Big Deal Days Sale, is back this fall. As usual, we have picked out what we think are either the best coffee makers that are on sale, or the best buys from brands we think you’ll like.

When is Prime Big Deal Days 2024?
For the past three years, Amazon has offered a fall season follow-up to its popular Prime Day deals with the introduction of Prime Big Deal Days. As in years past, this year’s sales event will take place in October, specifically Tuesday the 8th and Wednesday the 9th. Like Prime Day, you can expect major savings on countertop appliances, kitchen tools, and, of course, coffee makers. But as with Amazon Prime Day Deals, you have to be a Prime member to take part in Prime Big Deal Days, too.
Which kind of coffee maker should you buy?
We’ve tried and reviewed hundreds of coffee products, including espresso makers, drip coffee makers, single serve coffee makers, capsule coffee makers, French presses, and pour-over systems. (And if you click all those links we just threw at you, you’ll find our detailed, expert reviews.) But here’s a rundown of the basics you’ll want to consider:
How much coffee do you need? If you’re just making a cup for yourself, a single serve machine could be the way to go. If you’re sharing with a cohabitant or frequently hosting brunch, a multi-cup coffee maker with a large carafe is probably the way to go. Also consider whether your preference is for no-frills or all-the-frills. If its the latter, meaning you’ll want lattes and cappuccinos on the menu (i.e. espresso compatibility). Then think about how much time you want or have to actually make the coffee. A finicky process like fine-turning your ground coffee and brewing your own espresso may not be the best for “grab and go” commuters. For that, you’ll likely want a push-button automatic espresso machine that can steam milk, or a pod coffee maker like a Nespresso machine that makes a barista-quality cup with virtually no effort.
