Blue Bell Just Brought Back 2 of Its Most-Requested Flavors

They say true love waits, but…seven years? That’s how long Blue Bell ice cream devotees have been abandoned to stare at the horizon, dreaming of their true love’s return. Happily, their loyalty has paid off, and the “best flavor ever” is finally coming back. 

It wasn’t an easy competition. Like a contestant on “The Bachelor,” the beloved flavor had to beat a full tournament’s worth of championed flavors, each with fans rooting for them. Still, in the end, The Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament brought one discontinued Blue Bell pint back from the flavor graveyard, and there’s another fan-favorite returning alongside it. 

Which Blue Bell Ice Cream Flavor Is Coming Back in 2025?

Blue Bell pitted 16 long-gone flavors against one another in a bracket tourney known as The Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament, and let its many, many fans decide which flavor would go on to each of its four rounds.

But like the great sports-romance classic “Rocky,” the winner wasn’t quite so clear-cut. After facing down Cookie Cake in the final round, Groom’s Cake proved it was a contender, and there were no losers here today. Both flavors are set to return to grocery store freezers after proving their mettle. In Groom’s Cake’s case, it’s been seven years since it left shelves in 2018 after a decade-long run as a permanent offering.

But what’s a groom without his bride? A Rocky without his Aaadriaaan? Groom’s Cake also triumphantly joins fellow discontinued flavor Bride’s Cake to live happily ever after in the freezer aisle—or at least for a limited time.

Blue Bell Brings Back Groom’s Cake and Bride’s Cake for a Limited Time

Groom’s Cake has a milk chocolate ice cream base that plays host to chunks of chocolate cake and—here’s where it gets luxe—strawberry hearts covered in chocolate. And since every cake needs a little something sweet between its layers, Blue Bell swirls in strawberry sauce with chocolate icing. 

Oh, and Bride’s Cake? It’s almond ice cream with white cake pieces and a nutty amaretto-flavored cream cheese streak swirled in. A perfect complement to your tall, dark, and handsome pint of milk chocolate-and-strawberry goodness.

“I’m ready to stock my freezer,” wrote one Instagram user of Groom’s Cake. But despite the excitement over it, Blue Bell’s announcement seems to have pulled more comments in support of the bride than the groom. One commenter wrote, “Bride’s cake is my favorite flavor ever!!!” Another agreed, “It’s hands down the best flavor!”

The final fan-requested flavor, Cookie Cake, blends both chocolate and vanilla icing into a sweet cream base with chunks of chocolate chip cookie cake mixed in. Talk about the best of both worlds. No word yet on when Cookie Cake will be returning to stores, but you can be sure we’ll let you know when the date arrives.

Are Any Other Blue Bell Flavors Coming Back in 2025?

At the moment, it’s unclear if the Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament is going to be an annual event, but people certainly got hyped for it. Crestfallen Banana Fudge Ice Cream fans, hold out hope! “I just need Homemade in the Shade back, Blue Bell. That’s all. Please?” said one Instagram user who will definitely be voting again if the tournament is revived. Just get ready for a fight at the wedding, because there are a whole lot of Oatmeal Pie Ice Cream or Christmas Cookie fans ready to go to the mat for their favorite flavors.

With the future uncertain, we have no day but today to celebrate our love (of ice cream). Groom’s Cake and Bride’s Cake are rolling out to stores now and will run you around $4-5 for a pint, depending on the store—thankfully, much less than an actual wedding cake.
