  • At an exclusive brunch, Jamie Oliver shared the breakfast he makes his wife for Mother’s Day.
  • The breakfast includes pancakes, smoked salmon, avocado, bread and jam.
  • Making a meal for a loved one is a memorable gift that shows your appreciation for them.

Last week, I was invited to visit Jamie Oliver’s restaurant Jamie’s Italian on Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas for an exclusive brunch. At the restaurant, I enjoyed a delicious cheese spread complete with cured meats, rice balls, truffle pasta and a mini cheesecake for dessert. It’s safe to say it was a blissful experience, and to top it all off, the chef and owner himself came out to greet guests and answer any questions.

When Oliver was asked what Mother’s Day usually looks like for his family, he didn’t hesitate to spill the meal that he loves to make his wife, Juliette Norton, to celebrate her special day.

“On Mother’s Day, it’s just nice to cook her anything,” he shares. “People always say, ‘What’s the best recipe for Mother’s Day?’ I’m like, literally anything will make her very emotional, but I think breakfast is always a really good one in bed, and then the idea of building a tray and making it cute and knowing what her favorite things are.”

Making your wife, mom or anyone in your life a meal that’s catered to their favorite things is always a great way to show your love. As for specifics, Oliver shared his wife’s ideal breakfast that he loves to prepare.

“My wife always loves crunchy, savory pancakes, avocados, smoked salmon, fresh salsas—and she loves really good bread and amazing jam,” he says. “I get her favorite ones, and she’s obsessed with coffee.”

With handmade cards from the kids and a flower to decorate the tray, this breakfast spread sounds both impressive and tasty—and honestly, it’s got some nutritious ingredients, too, which we love! Protein-packed, fiber-rich ingredients are satisfying choices to help Mom feel her best all morning long. Also, we need this savory pancake recipe ASAP.

“I think just making it sentimental is the way,” he shares. A personalized gift is most memorable, and a delicious meal will undoubtedly show your appreciation. Breakfast recipes like Buckwheat Pancakes and Smoked Salmon & Avocado Toasts are on our list to make this weekend.
