Trader Joe’s New Bakery Item Is a ‘Perfect 10/10’ According to Shoppers

Estimated read time 3 min read

If you’re a frequent shopper and longtime fan of Trader Joe’s, you’ve most likely experienced, or at least seen and heard about, the crowd favorite mini sheet cakes offered in the baked goods section. While the chain appears to have chantilly cream vanilla bean cake and dark chocolate ganache cake as year-round offerings, Trader Joe’s also likes to introduce seasonal flavors from time to time that never seem to disappoint, like pumpkin spice and lemon.

Now, with strawberries in abundance, TJ’s is leaning into the seasonal fruit for its latest mini sheet cake, and to say fans are singing high praises is an understatement.

Trader Joe’s New Strawberry Mini Sheet Cake

Trader Joe’s recently debuted its Strawberry Mini Sheet Cake, featuring moist strawberry cake, topped with a rich and luscious strawberry cream cheese frosting. But that’s not all. This limited-time variation brings an extra something to the table: the inclusion of organic strawberry preserves in the cake and real strawberry purée in the frosting, adding both texture and the flavor of fresh strawberries in every bite.

Not only does the cake have a natural berry flavor, but it’s also pretty in pink, making it the perfect bright and upbeat treat to enjoy throughout the summer months.

Over on Reddit, fans are already raving about the new treat: “This one is a perfect 10/10 for me! Like other people have said, the strawberry flavor in the cake is pretty subtle, but I think the frosting has the perfect level of strawberry flavoring. So hard not to eat the whole thing in one sitting!!”

Another shopper admitted, “I always have a fork in my car because I taste their sheet cake in the parking lot. Spoiler alert: it never reaches my house.”

As another Redditor noted, “it’s fruit, so it’s totally breakfast worthy.” Yes! We love an optimist around here.

While most shoppers are enjoying this cake as it comes, others are making it their own by adding customizations, like topping it with shaved dark chocolate, chopped nuts, sliced fresh or macerated berries, or lemon zest for a touch of tang. However you decide to enjoy it, this sweet treat is flying off the shelves and won’t be around for long. As another Redditor aptly put it, “Trader Joe’s giveth, and Trader Joe’s taketh away!” So be sure to get your hands on one (or three) the next time you hit your nearest store.
