Over the past year, 64 Allrecipes editors and Allstars—plus countless family members and friends—ate and drank their way through over 1,000 grocery products that came out in 2024. We went to food conferences, scoured our grocery stores, and emailed every single PR person we knew to find out what was new to the market. We don’t take this task lightly. As grocery prices continue to rise, what you decide to buy matters, and we want to help our readers figure out what’s worth adding to their cart.
The result of all that testing is the 54 winning products you’ll find below. Alongside learning the best new snack bites, cheese, and cereal, we also stumbled upon some of the largest trends in grocery today (no, it’s not just you, protein really is everywhere—more on that later). Armed with this list, we hope you feel confident walking through the grocery aisle and stocking up on some new favorites.
How the Winners Were Chosen
For a grocery product to be considered for Allrecipes’ 2025 Golden Cart Awards, it must have been released sometime in 2024, be on shelves in a national supermarket chain, and be available at least through the end of 2025. Each submission was divided into product categories such as frozen pizza, produce, and yogurt. In the first round of testing, Allrecipes’ editors tried each product and chose their top two to three products in each category. When considering our favorite products, we evaluated based on overall taste, value, and whether or not the editor would purchase this for themselves and their family. In the second round of testing, the top products in each category were sent to our Allstars, a group of expert home cooks and Allrecipes superfans. They tested each product they received based on similar criteria from the first round, and they ultimately decided the winner in each category.

The Best New Breakfast Staples
If you’re still working on the “shine” part of the “rise and shine” colloquialism, we’ve got you. Make the a.m. hours a little more delicious with a new coffee pod that tastes “fabulous, clean, and smooth,” according to Allstar Faith Nettles, and a yogurt that moonlights as dessert.

The Best New Grocery Basics
Staples like vinegars, spices, salad dressings, and sauces are the bedrock of any home cook’s kitchen—but in 2025, they’re anything but basic. These smart new finds will shake things up, including one product that made an olive oil evangelist question their undying loyalty.

The Best New Snacks
Snacks. They’re the glue that holds us together throughout the day, the joy we can look forward to between work meetings and during the long hours between lunch and dinner. For 2025, the snack aisle is looking bright, with new finds like pickle-flavored pretzels with the best snap and a protein bar that News Editor Andrea Lobas described as “so satisfying and filling.”

The Best New Drinks
If you were to look at any of our editors’ desks at any given moment, there’s a good chance that you’d find, at a minimum, three different drinks. For Allrecipes’ Golden Cart Awards for 2025, we happily glugged our way through cans of sparkling water, tea, and new probiotic sodas to find our top picks of the year. Our favorite new lemonade is “great as a mixer” according to Allstar Elizabeth Dalton.

The Best New Dinner Finds
Whether you’re feeding a family of 10 or just trying to feed yourself, having a few go-to dinner shortcuts and smart essentials can make life easier and more delicious. In our search, we found the frozen side dish you’ll want to reach for again and again, and a new pasta that Allstar Linda Crumbaugh says smells just like sourdough bread (and she’s hooked).

The Best New Desserts
Our editors and Allstars ate their way through tubs of ice cream, too many bags of sour candy, and the most decadent chocolate treats to find the very best new sweets you should add to your cart right now. The dessert shortcut winner actually made our Associate General Manager, Ashley Kappel, speechless. “I do not have words to describe how good this is,” she said.
